What is Taboan?
Taboan is an online palengke for the Philippines, built by RASFarm OPC. A taboan is a neighborhood market day, and that is what the app is: fresh harvests from farms, shops, co-op stalls, and backyard gardens near you, ordered in a few taps and brought to your door by a rider — or picked up at a neighbor's gate. Behind the market sit two more doors — Agribusiness, where farms, co-ops, and merchants run their operations, and Jobs, where riders and farm workers find paid work.
How do I order, and how does delivery work?
Browse what is fresh near you — with a saved address, everything sorts by distance and only sellers within delivery range are offered — add to your cart from as many sellers as you like, and check out once. An order is created with each seller; weight and the delivery fee are worked out and shown before you confirm. Pick a delivery date and time window, or ask for it as soon as it is ready. The seller packs it, then a rider (or the seller themselves) brings it to your door, and pickup is confirmed with a 4-digit code so the right order leaves with the right rider. Produce from a neighbor's garden is collected at their gate instead.
How do I pay?
In cash, when your order arrives — or at pick-up for a neighbor's garden produce. There is nothing to pay online yet and no card to save; paying at checkout with GCash, Maya, QR Ph, or card is on the way. Prices are in pesos, and the delivery fee is shown before you confirm.
Why does Taboan ask for a verified mobile number?
So the seller and the rider can always reach you about your order. Before your first order you add a mobile number and a delivery address; we confirm the number once, with a one-time code by SMS or a quick call from us. After that you just shop.
How does Taboan keep produce fresh?
Perishable listings carry a fresh window — how long after harvest or restock the produce is at its best. When the window lapses, the listing disappears from the market on its own, and checkout is capped to stock that will still be fresh on your delivery day. Produce that keeps, like dried goods, has no window. Farms can also announce a crop before harvest — tap Notify me and you hear the day it is picked.
Can I cancel an order?
Yes, while it is still pending — the seller gets a note with your reason. A seller can decline or cancel too, always with a reason you see on the order and in chat, and the stock goes back on the shelf. Since you pay on delivery, there is nothing to refund.
Is Taboan free for shoppers?
Yes. Creating an account is free — with your email or your Google account — and you pay only for what you order plus the delivery fee shown at checkout. Taboan's fees are paid by sellers, not shoppers.
Where is Taboan available, and is there a mobile app?
Taboan is built for the Philippines and shows you the sellers near your own address, so it is useful wherever farms, stalls, and gardens have joined. It works in any phone browser today, and dedicated iOS and Android apps are in the works.
Can I sell or share what my backyard grows?
Yes — farm to table, right to your neighbor's table. Any account with a verified mobile number can set up a homestead — a pin on the map for your garden — and list what it grows. Only neighbors within a short walk (about 500 metres) see your produce, so what you sell stays in the barangay; they pick a time inside your open hours, collect it at your gate, and pay you in cash. Set any price you like, including ₱0 if you would rather share the extra than watch it wilt. Garden listings are paid for in binhi, Taboan's seed credits — every account gets 5 free each month, one binhi covers a harvest for up to 30 fresh days, and packs start at ₱20. Growing tools come with it: stage-by-stage care plans from the Taboan-Grow Library and upkeep reminders on your own garden calendar.
I run a farm, co-op, or shop — what does Taboan do for me?
Agribusiness is your side of Taboan. Plan crops, livestock, and natural fertilizer batches through their stages; each stage's tasks land as dated items on a shared calendar and your weekly agenda, and crew are notified when work is assigned to them. Schedule farm maintenance, one-time or recurring. See a 7-day forecast for each farm's own spot, with an alert when severe weather is coming. Run marketplace shops and co-op stalls with honest stock levels, take collated orders from the market, and read sales, delivery, and freshness reports per farm and shop.
Open AgribusinessCan farmers form a cooperative or sell at a co-op market?
Yes. Approved sellers can create or join a farmer cooperative, and a co-op can run a public wet-market (palengke) page where each member keeps a stall. Stalls run on chosen market days, co-ops can post sellers-wanted vacancies, and orders are collated stall by stall for hand-in.
How do riders and delivery runs work?
Sellers post delivery runs — blocks of delivery work a rider books in advance; the pay is locked in when you book and grows as more orders pool into the run — or let single orders go to an open board that riders claim one by one. Every job shows its pay, weight, and pickup and drop-off addresses before you take it, the day's weather sits on the run card, and pickup is confirmed with the customer's 4-digit code. Your finished jobs and what each paid stay in one list. Farms can also deliver orders themselves.
Open JobsCan I post or find farm work?
Yes. Farms post contract jobs — farm work with a title, location, start date, and pay that can be cash, volunteer, or barter. Workers browse an open jobs board, claim a job, and the farm marks it complete when the work is done. Posting and claiming each use a few binhi, Taboan's seed credits.
Is there a community or bayanihan feature?
Yes. The Bayanihan boards let sellers post produce they are looking to buy and one-off help requests such as extra hands, equipment, or transport. Every post states its terms — free, paid, or barter — and friends and co-op members can respond with an offer, then settle it in a built-in chat.
Can I message other people on Taboan?
Yes. Taboan has built-in one-to-one messaging with the people you are connected with — friends and co-op mates — and with the other side of a transaction: a seller about a listing or a crop they are growing, or the rider and customer on an order. Bayanihan offers are settled in the same chat.
What does it cost to sell on Taboan?
There are no subscriptions. Farms, crew, and the Taboan-Grow Library are free, with no tiers and no seats to buy. Marketplace shops and co-op markets pay a permit-review fee — we verify the business permit, the shop stays live for the permit's cycle, and the fee comes round again at renewal; non-profit co-ops are waived. All sellers pay a small commission on completed sales (5% today), prepaid from a credits wallet you top up with GCash, Maya, QR Ph, card, or bank transfer.
See the feesWho is behind Taboan?
Taboan is built and operated by RASFarm OPC, a Philippine one-person corporation founded by Roseele Dahang, a Cebuana who chose Bohol for her farm venture. The company name stands for Regenerative Agriculture System — farming that rebuilds soil health and keeps value in the hands of the people doing the work — and that is what the market is for: connecting farms, cooperatives, gardens, customers, and riders so growers earn more and worry less.
